jordan took hadley to lowe's last saturday morning to the 'build with me' workshop. they were so cute working together. hadley loves to swing a hammer, and can hit just about everything but what she needs to! she was a good worker...received her "certificate of being an awesome builder" and made daddy proud!

our good friends, tiffany and jon invited us to go with them to the kasota park and corn maze. hadley and their boy, hayden, are about the same age and they have become quite good little buddies! we started the night off with the corn maze. the boys were awesome at following the map but horrible at finding the posts that held the stamps to win us the sweet surprise! then we hit the slides. i was screaming like a baby. hadley loved them. jordan and jon were silly and went down the steepest one and landed in a puddle of water. they were wet. for the whole ride home. nice...guys...nice! and then hadley fell in the ball pit. almost was lost forever. thanks tiff for your efforts in rescuing the poor girl!

by halloween night, hadley had definately gotten the hang of the whole trick-or-treating business and was ready to tear up the neighborhood. we stopped by a saw a few of her little friends. it was a fun night!

between our ward and hadley's cousin's ward, we hit two trunk-or-treats and hadley did a fantastic job at collecting a TON of candy to share with her mommy and daddy! she actually did a great job at saying "trick or treat" and the only problem we had was that she was trying to eat the candy out of her bucket as fast as it was being dumped in! she didn't get the concept of "wait and you'll get more" that we were trying to get across to her!

warning, this cute little giraffe will have a not-so-cute, scraped up and maked-up nose in most of these pics! her costume was too fat to fit into her carseat, and so we had to dress her once we got to the church. as we were coming back out, i encouraged her to "hurry and go find daddy." as soon as the words came out of my mouth, i realized that was not a good thing to encourage. she obeyed (for once!) and she started to trot in this costume that has built-in fat pads throughout its lower half. before i could take the words back, her little legs tripped over each other and she fell flat on her face. i felt sooo bad and her poor little nose was scraped up and bleeding. i'm so sorry hadley. you were much cuter in the costume before you biffed it. lucky for mom, your still cute after, too!

oh, and by the way, jordan's sweet haunted buck and hunter get-up for our trunk decorations won us first place in the "best trunk" contest and a sweet movie-night bucket full of goodies! good work babe!

i couldn't resist this costume when i saw it sitting on it's hanger in the toddler section of target's halloween costume isle! i knew it would be perfect for her! although she was never able to successfully say giraffe, she sure thought she was hott stuff parading around in her new "hooves." we dolled it up a bit with the pink bows, and it was the most adorable thing on her. i love the built-in fat pads around her hips and waist!

daddy found us a really good carving pumpkin at the pumpkin patch....see post below. when we got home, hads and mom were ready to put him to work! we found our favorite picture of minnie mouse and away he went. he's always soo good to let us do the super girly ones (see last year's pumpkin carving post as proof)! hadley had so much fun playing in the squishy "mumkin" guts. mom did not have so much fun cleaning up after her!

we took hadley to the pumpkin patch again this year. my favorite thing this halloween has been her learning how to say "punkin" and the enthusiasm in which its said several times over and over again EVERYTIME we see pumpkins. it was fun to watch her go from pumpkin to pumpkin, either trying to pick 'em up and move 'em, or sit on 'em! i dunno.....i think that stemmed from an early picture taking endeavor where i encouraged her to sit on a BIG one outside our doorstep! now she tries to sit on 'em all, including the itsy bitsy ones!

when hadley turned 18 months old, she was booted out of her daycare at the hospital. i had been dreading that day for some time. the daycare is right next door to my office, so it was more than convenient for me. plus, she'd been there since she was like 4 months old and so she'd practically grown up with those ladies and around her same group of friends. i knew it'd be like starting all over again, only worse, at a new place. i really wish they'd take them there longer, but no such luck. mrs. chick and mrs. kirma were there every morning with smiles on their faces ready to feed my little peanut her oatmeal. in my "thank-you" to all the ladies there, i mentioned that i was in tears the day i took her and dropped her off for the first time because i was scared to leave her with "strangers" and i found it comforting almost that the last day i picked her up i was also in tears, but this time because i felt like she was losing a few of her "grandma's" and i didn't want her to leave them. i am so grateful for all they did for hadley. they were there to take care of her during the times i couldn't be. we made sure to capture some memories of her last day.

one night for family night we decided to make s'mores. and since we really have no yard to worry about wrecking, we decided to make a fire pit right off the back porch. i must say i was quite impressed with jordan's little ring fire pit he built effortlessly. hads had a great time learning how to control her mallow-poker and we had a great time watching her do it!

so there was a week this summer that jordan had off work and i did not. we decided to hit vegas over the weekend with his youngest brother josh. plan being: we all fly there on friday. we all stay and play the weekend away. then on monday, nicki goes home, ALONE. therefore, leaving hadley with jordan and josh for an ENTIRE week before they fly back on the next friday. this has never happened in the history of our little family. at first, i thought a week alone would be spectacularly fantastic! i quickly learned that being home working while the others stay and play isn't cool. glad they had a good time, though! here's what the week of daddy daycare looked like!

we snuck away to burley this summer (like we always do!) to catch their fair and rodeo. hads discovered a love for cows throughout this summer ever since we moved into our new house. there's a pasture at the end of our street with lots of "moo-cows." we took a few too-many-to-count walks down there throughout the summer and she quickly learned what cows were and what sounds they make. she was rediculously happy to see soo many cows at the fair! we also discovered a love for goats and horsies alike!

after our house was finished, we were happy to have mom and dad come out and visit for a week! great-grandma and grandpa came for a bit as well, along with uncle mike and mr. braxton.

after we had our fill of fun in twin falls for the week, we hopped on a plane and went to visit jordan's parents in las vegas.....had a great trip and hadley was happily spoiled by both sets of g-parents!!

new construction project

somewhere in the middle of spring jordan and i thought it would be a good idea to buy a house. after taking some time to find nothing we liked, we decided to take on the idea of a new construction project. here are the highlights of the 3 month process!

i do realize that for some reason i don't have the "finished" project captured in photo form......so i will need to do some updating once i get an official one taken!

of course, we've added a few things since then....maybe one of these days i can put up an update or two. until then, add some couches, a kitchen table, and lots and lots of hadley's toys thrown about and you'll pretty much have the idea!

it was fun to watch hadley search for easter eggs this year. our ward had an easter egg hunt specifically designed for the little tykes. you seriously couldn't walk without stepping on a carpet of candy, sidewalk chalk, and plastic easter eggs. we had a great time!

we were also very lucky that the easter bunny even found us! we were able to hop on down to utah to spend the weekend with jordan's sister, jeanne, and her family. the kids loved following the easter bunny trail of candy to hadley's basket! hadley enjoyed eating her crabby patties. so did her daddy. mommy enjoyed looking at her cute new easter dress and shoes.

the only thing i have to say is that i might possibly be the world's worst mother! when i went to collect all of hads' birthday pictures and videos to post, i was extremely disheartened to find NOTHING. like seriously. nothing. on the entire computer. i have no idea what happened. the only chance i have is sarah......she was taking pics the whole time and so i'm hoping she's got something, anything really. we did have a great time eating pizza and watching hadley daintly bite into her cake. agh...i'm so mad i cannot find those pictures. i will see what i can do and post whatever i can muster up. in the meantime, we shall skip that highly significant and milestone-of-an-event and move to easter. which is sad to think that she's big enough to not have any more 1st's of anything. my baby's getting tooo big!

for christmas last year we were able to go to wyoming and spend time with my family! we don't get to see them very often so when we do we truly cherish every moment. hads enjoyed spending time with her grandparents and great-grandparents.....and especially loved all the attention she got from uncle ryan and uncle ty!

this animal choo-choo train was hadley's present from santa this year! it was fun to watch her "chase" after it since she was just learning how to crawl.

christmas is my favorite holiday! it was so fun to have hadley begin to be a little more involved in and aware of her surroundings! she loved sitting with rudolph and clarice watching their movie. she loved reading her christmas books that were bigger than she was. she loved trying to reach the ornaments on the lowest branches. and most of all she loved the few nights we slept out under the tree. here are a few glimpses into what our holiday season was all about.

me and my daddy took our first fishing trip together. even though i'm not old enough to have my own fishing pole yet, i had a lot of fun snuggling up with him and watching him catch his fishies! thanks daddy for a fun day!

the cold bug hit hadley and mommy real hard the week after we got home from arkansas. it was aweful! hadders hates the green suction bulb with a passion as a result. she became miss cuddle bugs and was miserable for about 5 days. we brought ellie, her humidifier elephant friend into the family...it busted out the humidity for a couple of days.....and that, with vapor baths and saline drops, got us headed back in the right direction!

uncle ryan and grandpa kirk decided it would be fun to go see the big fish at the flw professional walmart fishing tournament weigh-in, and they decided to take me, mom, and grandma with them! we did have a lot of fun, though we didn't win the new fishing boat they had for the raffle :( uncle tyler wasn't able to go with us....him and a buddy were in a fishing tourney of their own that day. we were happy for them, though! they won their tournament and made lots of $$!

we thought it'd be fun to visit grandma at school! she had a lot of girls that she works with that were excited to meet me, too. i wasn't use to all that noise, but i think i was a real big hit with all of her 2nd graders as well! we had fun playing, napping in her reading loft, watching the kids make indian teepees out of tortilla shells, and listening to their pow-wow music on their drums.

apparently hadders hadn't been as amused the whole day as i thought she had been! she found these to be quite fun.....and i figured i'd better post these pics, especially for those anti-headband and bow members of the family!!

the big surprise

after mom picked us up at the airport, she tried her best to find out what dad was up to without spilling the beans! of course, he was mowing lawns in fayetteville and so we just decided to head home and wait. it worked out great though! when he got home mom was in the garage holding hadley and when he walked up, she said "i'm babysitting!" he got a funny look on his face, apparently trying to figure out who in the world's baby she was holding, and that's when i ran out of the house and yelled "surprise" and the light bulb moment was apparent! although it was funny...like he had connected the dots but still couldnt figure out how we had gotten us there! a big grandpa-ish smile crossed his face and it only reconfirmed my feelings of how important this trip was for hadley to meet her grandpa kirk and her uncle ryan and uncle tyler.

her grandpa did say that he never imagined he could love being a grandpa as much as he does! i think she's got him hooked!

nobody's response to hadley was better than her uncle tyler's! the first time he got to see her......."she's bite size!" i think she stole uncle ryan's heart, too. they were soo sweet with her and she thinks they are the very best uncles in the whole world!

going home to arkansas

for mother's day i got a plane ticket to arkansas! we decided to make it a surprise....mom was the only one who knew we were on our way. every part of the adventure will be blogged. hang on for the ride!

i'd never been so nervous to fly on a plane in my entire life. hadley had been doing that "throw up everything she eats" bit occasionally the few days before we were going to take to the friendly skies. i had had nightmares that she'd scream constantly the whole way there and everyone on board, including those in the cockpit, would hate me, and that we'd be kicked off the plane. needless to say, hadders is a rock star and did fantastic on the plane. we arrived in arkansas in great shape and mom was happy to find us!

just a little note to wish my mommy a "happy mother's day" and to thank her for being the incredible mommy she is!! i have been so blessed having her in my life. she truly is one of my best friends and i know i am who i am because of her. i love you dearly!

this mommy's day was extra special because im finally a mom! i have learned so much these last few months! i think i have gained a much deeper love and appreciation for my own mom through having a daughter of my own. my parents always say that they'll find out what kind of parents they were not by how their kids turn out, but by how their grandchildren turn out....i think that's why i find myself telling my mom over and over again that i only hope i can be to hadley what she is to me. i have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. i am so thankful for that. when i'm holding her and she looks up at me, i know she knows me. when she hears my voice and turns her head to find me, i know she knows me. when i tell her i love her and she smiles and starts to coo, i know she knows me. i hope she will always know me and more than that, i hope she will always know that i love her. i am so grateful that my father in heaven has sent her to me, and in doing so has already given me more in this life than i could ever ask for.

two month check-up

hadley had her two month check up! she now weighs 11 lbs and is 23 inches long. she's growing way too fast for her mommy and daddy. i debated whether or not i wanted to give her her first set of immunizations (would've saved us quite a bit of $$ for the "injection" fees)....i decided it wouldn't be worth it. baby tylenol and a few good naps got her back to herself within no time; though i love how cuddly she gets when she doesn't feel good.

hadleys aunt jeanne was here for a few days soon after she born. it was so good to have her around to help me out! she was sooo excited for hadleys first "photo shoot." she made a brown tu-tu and we added a headband and bow and wah-lah!! super cuteness. here's what hadderbugs created for us.....

so here's the rest of our adventurous story.....jordan had had quite a long day at work last thursday. needless to say, when i woke him up at 12:30 am with the news that we might be having a baby today, he was not quite with it and didnt seem super excited. in fact, he told me it was probably nothing and that i needed to lay back down and just try to relax and go back to sleep. i couldnt relax and never did go back to sleep. finally at 2:15ish we were on our way to the hospital. when we arrived on the labor and delivery floor, i was informed that they had no open rooms and so they led me to the "antepartum room" which is essentially a storage closet, no joke. take a look. no bed (just a stretcher) and no tv. definately nothing "suite" about it.

because i thought i was going to die, i was begging for my epidural. however, i was denied because i had walked in at an 8 1/2 and we didnt have time for any drugs at all! i sent jordan back to the car in a hurry to get the cameras, which was almost a huge disaster. they wouldnt let him back in through the ER and he had to wait like 10-15 minutes for security to let him in. in the meantime, the doctor came in and broke my water and said i was free to push. i told him he was crazy if he thought i was going to be pushing without jordan in the room. those 10-15 minutes were the longest of my entire life. when he finally got back to me, it only took 2 contractions and she was born! start to finish we were only in there 40 minutes. short and sweet....it was fantastic. although i wouldnt recommend the delivering on a stretcher bit to anyone!

we were super excited to finally get hadderbugs home. we came home to a super cutely decorated door and once we got inside jordan enjoyed showing her all of her new things! welcome home cuppie cake!

we were blessed with our new addition, hadley nicholle, at 3:40 am on friday, march 6th, 2009. she weighed 7 lbs and 7 oz and was 20 inches long. she's absolutely a wonderful addition to our little family. more to follow on her adventurous arrival, but for now just need pictures for grandmas and great grandmas who live a ways away!

it seems so crazy that march is already here. i cant believe that within just a week and a half (i hope!) we could be bringing her home.......i still feel like there's so much i need to get done before then. but im trying to take the moments as they come and just savor every last one of them. as exciting as it will be to actually have her here and be able to hold her, i imagine that ill miss being pregnant. when you go for so long being able to feel her kick and squirm and hiccup, i think im going to really miss those quiet moments when its just me and her. its an extremely intimate relationship from the very minute you find out youre expecting, and im so thankful that my father in heaven has blessed me with this entire experience. one of my favorite things about being pregnant is jordans obsession with my tummy. i love having him want to lay his head on there to feel her kick. i love having her kick at just the right moment to bring a smile to his face. i love having him talk to her and feeling her respond to his voice. i love having him play his favorite songs to her. i love having him tap at her and watching her play back. i love having him find her heartbeat and pat it out so i can hear it too. i decided with this weeks picture we definately needed to include daddy. hes already such a big part of her life and im so grateful for that. i know shes always going to be daddy's little girl.

i work with some of the wonderfullest people ever! they threw me a super fun baby shower a week or so ago and i promised all of them i'd get some pictures posted as soon as i could for my mommy to see. they all agree that not getting to be with my mommy at all while im pregnant is not even cool, so they have done their best to take care of me in her absence! and i can tell you that both me and my mommy are super grateful for that. here's a peek at the fun we had!

happy valentine's day! even though jordan had said over and over again that we wouldn't be doing much this year, he, like always, went ahead and did too much.

she's not even here yet and she's won him over!

what you dont understand is the awesomeness of what this little black card entails.....60 full minutes of prenatal massage heavenly bliss. the absolute BEST thing to get when you're 37 weeks pregnant and miserable! once again, here's to you baby in your awesomeness!

and once again, last but not least for my mommy and green beans and anybody else who really wanted to see my belly.....we've made it to 37 weeks! hooray!!

not what you're thinking...we dont have her here quite yet. we've just been getting everything ready for when she does though! jord has always said that we couldnt get "girly" bedding for the crib because we'd have to re-buy new stuff if/when we have a little boy. lucky for me and for her, he changed his mind when he found this (all by himself, i might add) on sale! he was quite pleased when he suprised me with the new bedding all ready to go in the crib. its super cute! i love it.

and just for my mommy and green beans!! here's my cute little belly! 36 weeks and patiently counting.......

this posting is a little late, but im trying to get all caught up! at the end of january we went to las vegas for a week to spend some time with jordan's parents.....decided it would probably be the last baby-free vacation of our lives!! we had such a good time, as always.

we went to build-a-bear workshop to make our little peanut her very own special baby teddy bear. jordan named her cuppie-cake!

they made us wash and dry and brush her just like everyone else has to!!

jordan found some new living room furniture at bass pro shop (i told him i didn't think so!!)

i think my favorite night was one of the last ones we were there when we went to the temple. its absolutely beautiful.

not-so-empathetic belly

so, apparently people get a little grumpy when you don't update your blog often enough! my deepest apologies......hope this will make a few people feel better! it's not alot for now, but i promise there's more to come soon!

last month we finished up our childbirth education classes! jordan was thrilled to go. with only 5 nights of class, the boys all had to fight over the "empathy belly" wearing opportunities. if you know my jordan, you know he didn't fight too hard. needless to say, he missed out on the opportunity to wear it for the entire night of any class, getting out of 2 1/2 hours of being "miserable and uncomfortable" as he put it. i, along with a few of his friends, informed him that probably wasnt the smartest thing to say to his 8 month pregnant miserable and uncomfortable wife! after rethinking it, he agreed and gave me a smirky smile! anyways, he didn't get out of it entirely. the last day he had to bare it for just a few minutes to get some pictures.......what you dont know but need to is that he just had to wear the belly, she didn't even add the extra 30 lbs of weights and the additional "bladder presure" pad to make it even remotely close to reality! here's to you baby in your awesomeness!

jordan and i are super excited to announce that we are having a little girl!! to be completely honest, we were both shocked when they told us. not because we were really hoping for one way or the other, just because for the longest time we've both been thinking it was a little boy! i've had to keep saying over and over that my mommy instinct stinks! nonetheless, of course we are thrilled! i had avoided the pink baby sections of stores for so long.....its been so fun getting to really spend some "quality time" getting familiar with them again!

we decided that we'd try to keep it a surprise long enough for me to make and send announcements out to family and friends. that was super hard, let me tell you! i almost slipped up quite a few times, but i think we were successful in keeping it a surprise. i had so much fun making these cutesie little cards.....

here's the newest peak at our little pehrson princess!

it didnt take long for jordan to get wrapped around her little finger. in fact, he was the one that went on the first shopping spree for her! he was really wanting to buy a pearl snap hurley shirt that he had found in the little boy's section a few days before our ultrasound. once he knew she was a girl, he refused to buy it, saying his little girl would not wear that! i tried convincing him that they must make hurley in pink. he didnt believe me! at least not until i actually showed him. his eyes seemed to light up just a bit perhaps and the rest is history. he picked up most of his favorites....saying his little girl will have to be part rocker chick! im okay with that. that way i know she's his little girl!

as i become more and more "familiar" with the little girl sections, jordans "man cave" (aka the spare bedroom where most of his stuff is) is slowly turning from "man cave" to "maybe cave" (which he named after the fact that now its more like part man cave and part baby cave), and therefore is slowly becoming more and more pink. ive even turned her little rocking horse completely girly. im getting so excited for her to come already! i cant wait. only 18 more weeks to go!

the half way mark

so we finally have reached the half way mark! 20 more weeks and counting....i decided that im a horrible daughter and have yet to send any pictures of my cute little pregnant self to my mommy who lives a zillion miles away. i think its wrong that a girl cant see her mommy even once while she's pregnant. im still trying to figure out how to fix that problem! however, this will have to do for now. plus, we had to show off our newest "real deal" that we are super excited about. we happened to run into the cutest set of furniture at a really good price, so we decided even though we still have a while to go, we would take the plunge and start the nursery. as jord was setting it up, he kept saying, "this is kinda weird!" anyways, he did a great job getting it all put together. unfortunately until we have an ultrasound that can successfully tell us what we're having, the drawers shall remain empty and the crib shall remain linen free!!

ive decided that the idea of being a mommy myself becomes more and more real every time we take on an endeavor like this! i must say there are a lot of fun and exciting little "firsts" that you never really think about before you get pregant that once you are pregnant are like the best part of your days! just the other day, i was laying in bed and i was able to feel the baby kick on the outside of my tummy and so i was yelling like crazy at jordan to hurry up and get in here....he comes barrelling down the hallway, probably thinking somethings hugely wrong. i told him to hurry and put his hand on my tummy and the baby kicked hard...he yanked his hand back and gave me the cutest look and said, "that was kinda weird." i love being pregnant!

so my biggest surprise was scheduling a late night ultrasound! jordan had really wanted to find out on his birthday what we're having but they couldnt schedule one in the office because they were short a tech so he was kinda bummed. so, for over a few weeks ive been trying to figure out a way to get one done. which i succeeded and so i was super excited! however, as much as a tried to make things work, our little peanut was not wanting to be as cooperative as we would have liked. therefore, we still dont know for sure what we're having. it was still fun though to go and see the baby. it was pretty exciting to be feeling the kicking inside and seeing it on the screen at the same time. all four little extremities were going at it. i think no matter if its a boy or girl, we already have an active little one on our hands.

jordans birthday was quite the experience this year! jordans co-workers and his boss are so wonderful. on top of the surprise party at the office, jim threw in lunch downtown and a few laps of go-karting at nazzkart; not to mention half the day off.....you cant find a better boss! and just because im his wife and its my job to embarrass him, i threw in the kiddo pictures just for kicks. of course the girls in the office loved it and said he hasn't changed a bit!!

jordan and neil decided to become all sportman-like and have taken on the roles of professional fly fisherman!! we had to take a slight hiking trip to check out the river the week before their blessed event! i decided to tag along. the baby likes to hike! i was really glad i went. the river was beautiful and i actually got jordan to take some cute pictures while we were out there!

family tradition

we headed to utah in early september to catch a byu football like we do every year with the whole family. its a fun weekend made up of cafe rio and byu football. of course, the cafe rio was delicious!! the football game?? not so much. it was super hot and i felt like i was going to pass out like every 5 seconds. i spent alot of the second quarter down underneath the bleachers in the shade. we were also treated with an extra special event this trip....brady's first flag football game!

we were able to go to las vegas over my birthday weekend......which was a while back! we are awesome at keeping up with this whole blogger thing. it had been a while since we were there last. jordan's parents were wondering if we still even loved them! we always have a blast when we go. this time wasnt any different in the fact we had a great time, just in what we found to do. the stratosphere rides arent allowed when you're around 13 weeks pregnant and they are definately not as appealing when you're nauseated all the time anyways!

we got to go to a magic show!! nathan burton was awesome!

we know its been a while since we've posted anything......we have a ton of things to catch you all up on. but we'll forego the not super exciting stuff for now and just let you into our new little world of baby!! we are expecting our first little peanut!! we had our first ultrasound today and have some cute pictures to show. we're just about 10 weeks along, or so we thought. they're actually thinking now we may be closer to 11 1/2 weeks. so officially we don't know for sure when we're due, we're just planning sometime between march 7-13th so that'll have to work for now. of course, jordans hoping for a boy, and im hoping for a girl. i guess we'll have to see who prays the hardest!

its almost spring break

its almost spring break and that means its almost time for my kiddos to come see me. of course, their not really mine mine but i hope mine are just like 'em. this was them a few years ago.....we'll have to get an updated one when they're here!! anyways, i am way excited for them to come and see me. i love 'em to pieces. the things they say crack me up! see robb and jeanne's link to find out what i'm talking about. their comments about "this christmas is off the hook" and "mom-pancakes!" can put a smile on my face even on the rainiest days. we are going to have so much fun my little peanuts. make sure to bring your swimming suits and your sweet tooth for easter candy and sugar cookies! i love you guys.
